It was early 2021, must have been the third) lockdown. Painted in Vienna, they are still strongly influenced by the time in late 2020 (the second lockdown), which I spent in Berlin.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"_P\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eUnlike other works from that time (especially the series Waiting for my plants to dry so I can water them again), however, the works are not concerned with the interior and the retreat into the private, but carry the desire to break out and the longing for freedom.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"_P\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eThey do this in part through romanticizing depictions of outdoor space, in part through collage-like fusions of different pictorial elements. Space is created, spatiality is lost. I can no longer tell the difference between the two.
