Lukas Painsi

Lukas Painsi was born in Klagenfurt and lived there until he graduated from high school. As a child, there were no major points of contact for him in the small art scene in his city and so he sought expression in freeskiing, downhill and other outdoor sports. He studied in Vienna and Graz, traveled through India, Indonesia and Europe. An openness and interest in painting and the visual arts in general had existed for a long time when he decided to start painting. And he couldn’t let go of painting and drawing. The following years were marked by finding and allowing what kind of art he could create.

He understands his artistic work as a process that allows him to further differentiate in his inner flexibility and the subject of proximity and distance in perception. For him, art is the spiritual movement that enables people to live a self-determined good life.
