Lara Erel
Lara Erel is fascinated by buildings and objects that are always present in her paintings. She likes to take on the role of an urban planner and everyday archaeologist. In the series ” Gegenstadt ” she uses the form of objects to construct buildings. Present and absent paths are omnipresent communication infrastructures in these urban landscapes. But each ” Gegenstadt ” is also an intimate portrait of a person or of an impressive place, such as a museum or a workshop, because the objects always come from a particular space. She has been studying fine arts at the University of Applied Arts since October 2014 in the class for graphic and print design under Jan Svenungsson. In 2017 she spent a semester in the class for Monumental Art at the Vilnius Academy of Arts.
