Martina Stapf
Martina Stapf works with the body as a projection surface, that deals with all kind of social relationships and communicates itself as a product of it. We move in different patterns, define ourselves by different relationships, actions and spaces, while a constant process of identification is taking place. At the forefront of her artistic approach, she works with a complete network of different overlapping categories and topics such as body (pictures), (self-) staging, representation, construction of identity and art history. The body becomes the material that is worked on in
performative acts and through the technique of photographic fixation.
Born in 1990, Martina Stapf lives and works in Vienna. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna in 2017, in the class of video and video installation from Dorit Margreiter. Before that she was attended the Friedl Kubelka school in the Artistic Photography class from
Anja Manfredi, the University of Vienna in the department of art history and the Salzburg International Summer Academy of Fine Arts.
